The Senior Electrical and Controls Engineer position at Schneider Electric is a critical role within the Modernization Team, located in West Chester, OH, near Cincinnati. This position is primarily onsite initially, with the potential for 2-3 days of remote work once the engineer is acclimated to the team and responsibilities. The engineer will be responsible for the design and coordination of low and medium-voltage switchgear assemblies and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as IEEE/ANSI, IEC, and NEC/NFPA 70E. This role requires a strong focus on electrical control and protection schemes, as well as the ability to manage project delivery and installation schedules effectively. In this role, the engineer will design and support protective relaying schemes, conduct short circuit coordination, and perform arc flash studies. The responsibilities also include managing the overall project delivery, which encompasses initial quotation technical support, customer interaction, and the generation of electrical Bills of Materials (BOMs). The engineer will be tasked with creating production and on-site drawing packages, developing factory and on-site Acceptance Test Plans (ATPs), and submitting O&M manuals and project close-out documentation. Additionally, the engineer will lead the on-site installation, start-up, and commissioning of switchgear line-ups and sub-assemblies for high-demand industrial facilities, ensuring that production and quality assurance teams are supported for manufacturing excellence. The role also involves performing site visits to assess the condition and ratings of existing equipment, as well as supporting testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
