About the position

The Electrical Design Engineer at PEC will be responsible for designing and engineering building power, lighting, and low voltage systems across various market sectors including education, healthcare, and commercial. The role involves project planning, client communications, and the production of construction documents, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer building power, lighting, and low voltage systems.
• Develop site power distribution and building power distribution including one-line/wiring diagrams.
• Conduct lighting design and grounding systems layout.
• Perform short circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies using SKM/ETAP.
• Create fire alarm device layouts and conduct code analysis including hazardous area classification studies.
• Engage in client meetings and communications to discuss project requirements.
• Plan and develop projects from conception to completion.
• Prepare reports and present findings to clients.
• Evaluate existing electrical systems and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an accredited college.
• Licensed professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for client contact.
• Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments.
• Familiarity with Revit is desirable.
