About the position

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating electronic parts and components for electronic equipment and hardware systems. This role is critical within a multi-disciplined engineering team, focusing on innovative thermal test solutions for the semiconductor industry. The engineer will engage in the entire product design process, from concept to production launch, ensuring high-quality and efficient designs.

Responsibilities

  • Create electrical product designs within an interdisciplinary team to address complex product design and manufacturing challenges for Data Cooling Centers.
  • Select electrical components, create schematics, perform PCB layout (preferably with Altium software), and assist in finding vendors to fabricate designed PCBs.
  • Lead feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
  • Develop and carry out test plans, engineering analysis, and qualification testing required for production launch.
  • Conduct failure analysis investigations and engineering evaluations.
  • Maintain product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons learned; produce design reports, test reports, operating manuals, and test procedures.
  • Engage with customers to solicit product specifications requirements, schedule expectations, and budget.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Competent in the use of Schematic Capture and PCB design tools (preferably Altium).
  • Demonstrated experience in board-level electronic circuit design mixed-signal Analog/Digital.
  • Experience with serial data interfaces: SPI, I2C, RS485, UART, and USB.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues during board bring up and validation.
  • Comfortable with standard lab equipment: DMM, oscilloscope, signal generators, soldering equipment, and high power supply.
  • DC/DC switching power supply experience is a plus (low noise, isolation from sensitive circuits).
  • Ability to write firmware to validate hardware design in C/C++ or Python is a plus.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
