About the position

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer at Park Industries, you will play a critical role in both New Product Development (NPD) and Sustaining Engineering. Your expertise will drive the design of cutting-edge control systems, enhance existing products, and ensure that our industry-leading machinery continues to set the standard. This position involves leading the design of electrical systems, developing control systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of electrical systems from initial conceptualization through to commissioning, ensuring they meet all project requirements and industry standards.
  • Independently design controls and software systems, including creating specifications, architecture, and user interfaces for new products and enhancements to existing ones.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing products, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical design, and ensure that products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Actively participate in both NPD and sustaining engineering projects, working closely with teams across Manufacturing, Sales, Service, Installation, and Training.
  • Communicate the need for service documentation, such as schematics and CAD drawings, to the design team, ensuring all designs are thoroughly documented.
  • Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives, providing technical guidance and support to the team in both new and existing product development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering, with a focus on control systems and software development.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., C#, C++, Java, VBA, VB6, or Python).
  • Familiarity with ladder logic and structured text, and experience with IDEs such as Visual Studio, TIA Portal, and Step 7.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, unit and integration testing, and conducting code reviews is essential.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Computer Numeric Controllers (CNCs) is preferred.
