About the position

Join Collins Aerospace, a leader in advanced technology and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry, as a Senior Electrical Engineer in our Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) group. This role is pivotal in supporting the next generation of Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems and enhancing existing fielded systems. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in power electronic circuits and your hands-on laboratory skills to design and develop innovative power system hardware. This position requires a blend of classic design techniques and modern power electronics knowledge, ensuring that our hardware development aligns with project requirements and drives innovation in our projects. In this role, you will lead design activities, showcasing your creative prowess and technical acumen. You will conduct rigorous lab testing to validate engineering change proposals, ensuring the integrity of solutions through detailed verification test plans and reports. Collaboration is key; you will interface with diverse engineering disciplines, supply chain partners, and customers to foster a collaborative ecosystem that drives efficiency in product development. Your contributions will not only impact the projects at hand but also redefine the future of aerospace technology. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for flexibility with three days onsite per week and a 9/80 work model, providing every other Friday off. Responsibilities

  • Lead design activities as the Senior Electrical Engineer to ensure hardware development aligns with project requirements.
  • Design and develop cutting-edge power system hardware, showcasing innovative design expertise.
  • Conduct meticulous lab testing to validate engineering change proposals and ensure solution integrity through detailed verification test plans and reports.
  • Collaborate with diverse engineering disciplines and supply chain partners to drive innovation and efficiency in product development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in designing, evaluating, and testing power supplies.
  • Experience in collaborating with diverse engineering disciplines and customers to deliver solutions.
  • Ability to ensure clear and organized technical documentation on Configuration Control, Change Management, and Design artifacts.
  • Proficiency in PCB/PWB design and crafting efficient electrical circuits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Design experience with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) power supply devices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Linux and Solaris operating systems.
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience.
