About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer at Amazon Robotics will be responsible for system design, implementation, and release to manufacturing. This role requires extensive experience in electrical engineering, particularly in analog and digital circuit design, and the ability to lead a team of engineers. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to execute product designs from concept to production, ensuring effective coordination across various engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Working with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation, testing and certification
• Leading and supporting a technical team on multiple projects in parallel
• Coordinating all activities within the engineering discipline for the project
• Ensuring effective coordination with other disciplines for each project
• Writing and developing functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures
• Architecting, designing and implementing complex embedded systems, analog and digital circuit design and systems debugging
• Supporting product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments
• Executing tasks to aggressive schedules
• Establishing development processes to meet industry standards for functionally safe control systems (IEC 61508)

Requirements

• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
• 10+ years of experience in electrical, firmware and system level design
• Ability to lead a technical team
• Expert in schematic entry, layout tools and design for manufacturability
• Experience designing complex schematics containing analog and digital electronics
• Experience with FPGAs, VHDL, microcontrollers, microprocessors and mixed-signal designs
• Experience with serial communication interfaces (CAN, SPI, Ethernet, etc)
• Experience executing design reviews in front of interdisciplinary teams
• Familiar with PCB layout design and best practices
• Demonstrated strong ability to move seamlessly between levels of abstraction - from system to the 'nuts and bolts' implementation
• Extensive system design interfacing to a wide array of electro-mechanical subsystems and debugging experience
• Commitment to rigorous testing practices and design process flows
