About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer will serve as a Technical Specialist within the conceptual design team, focusing on Conventional Power Generation Projects. This role involves developing electrical drawing deliverables, specifications, and managing project budgets and schedules. The engineer will also provide technical guidance, ensure compliance with engineering standards, and support project coordination and client engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a Technical Specialist in the conceptual design team for Conventional Power Generation Projects.
  • Develop electrical drawing deliverables including one line and three line diagrams, motor schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Conduct complex engineering calculations such as load flow, short circuit analysis, and arc flash analysis.
  • Create electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction.
  • Attend on-site meetings and provide support during construction.
  • Use Microsoft Office, ETAP, and AutoCAD for engineering tasks and drawing manipulation.
  • Provide guidance on engineering standards and ensure compliance with quality programs.
  • Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple projects and manage budgets and schedules.
  • Coordinate with internal and external team members on complex projects and define project schedules.
  • Communicate client interests and develop approaches to accommodate their needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
  • Experience in utility scale conventional power generation project design.
  • Familiarity with NEC and IEEE/ANSI standards.
  • Experience with electrical equipment including MV and LV switchgear, transformers, and protective relays.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to drive results.

Nice-to-haves

  • Quality Assurance / Quality Check (QA/QC) experience.
  • Experience in project leadership and engineering consulting design.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and standards.
