About the position

Crown is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The Principal Electrical Engineer will provide Infrastructure Engineering Support to include, but not limited to the following: May function as discipline Project Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the group. May plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering unit or project requiring a large-scale expenditure of manpower and financial investment. Leads other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process. Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses. Ensures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations. Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist with other administrative and technical duties. Design low voltage power distribution systems. Prepare single line diagrams and wiring diagrams under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Coordinate designs with other disciplines (i.e., civil, architectural, mechanical, structural, etc.). Adhere to Parsons policy for accurate project documentation for project files. Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable. Prepare standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Prepare detailed requisitions for low voltage equipment and materials. Size conduit, conductors and overcurrent protection devices per the National Electric Code (NEC). Reviews small and portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assists in performing technical bid analyses. Prepare and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Perform field surveys and collect required data as per project needs.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
  • 8+ years of electrical design related experience in low voltage power distribution systems.
  • Potential to perform in a lead capacity.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Familiarity with industry practices and regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of current technology and engineering software.
  • Ability to pass government background check.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within budgeted hours.
  • Green card or US citizenship required.

  • Previous experience in engineering consulting with federal agencies.
  • Working knowledge of FAA standards and specifications.
  • Familiar with construction practices and safe work procedures.
  • Ability to solve problems with persons inside and outside an organization.
  • Previous experience with lightning and grounding protection.
