About The Position
As a Senior Electrical Engineer Intern at Xcel Energy, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Engineering staff to support the Transmission Control Center. This role is designed for an entry-level engineering analyst who will engage in various operational tasks that are critical to the functioning of the center. Your responsibilities will include supporting the tools, programs, and databases that facilitate outage coordination, powerflow studies, and power system monitoring. Additionally, you will assist with operator training, which will provide you with practical operations experience and valuable mentoring from seasoned professionals in the field. This internship is structured as a summer opportunity, with the potential for extension into the school semester. Candidates are expected to work full-time during the summer months, while part-time hours will be accommodated during the academic year. This position is ideal for students currently enrolled in an ABET accredited engineering program, particularly those studying electrical or civil engineering.
