About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the design and technical systems for large, complex projects, overseeing the process from schematics through construction administration. This role requires collaboration with project teams and leadership in electrical engineering disciplines, ensuring compliance with project budgets and timelines while mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design and technical systems for large, complex projects from schematics through construction administration.
  • Develop building system concepts and documentation processes within the discipline.
  • Coordinate with the Supervisor in project development and performance.
  • Lead project discipline teams on large projects when assigned.
  • Direct and oversee project team members within the electrical discipline.
  • Prepare and monitor project status reports and coordinate with the Electrical Engineering Discipline Leader on project man-hour estimates.
  • Conduct code research and document findings for projects.
  • Participate in the development of project cost models and maintain the Electrical Basis of Design Journal.
  • Conduct material and product research as required for project development.
  • Attend project meetings and interface with other Project Discipline Team Leaders.
  • Respond to client questions/requests within 24 hours and review documentation during bidding and construction administration.
  • Mentor support engineers and provide feedback on their performance.
  • Identify opportunities for quality improvement and participate in implementation.
  • Engage in in-house training and professional organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and PE licensure required.
  • Minimum six years' experience in the A/E industry preferred.
  • Proven experience working on mission critical/data center projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of professional services from schematic design through project close-out.
  • Proficiency in short circuit and selective coordination calculation, with experience in EDSA, SKM or other analytical modeling software preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor staff, and delegate work assignments.
  • Computer and CADD/Revit literate.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
