About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer in the Mission Critical division at JE Dunn will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing complex mechanical and electrical construction activities. This position is integral to the Advanced Facilities Group, focusing on innovative projects in industrial and manufacturing sectors, including data centers and semiconductor facilities. The engineer will be responsible for developing budgetary estimates, conducting systems analysis, ensuring quality control, and mentoring junior staff, all while promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the company's safety and quality plans and culture.
  • Complete entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Develop budgetary mechanical/electrical estimates based on program and schematic design information.
  • Assist in the review of mechanical and electrical options during the preconstruction process.
  • Complete systems analysis for select projects and recommend the best system for the project.
  • Develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bid process.
  • Assist in bid analysis and subcontractor selection process.
  • Develop sequencing requirements of various systems to meet schedule requirements.
  • Perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met.
  • Assist with the shop drawing/submittal process to comply with contract documents.
  • Support the commissioning process by developing checklists and testing procedures.
  • Mentor less experienced co-workers and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience (preferred).
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely in a timely manner.
  • Intermediate communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of means and methods of construction management.
