In this role as a Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical Data Center Program Lead, you will be instrumental in expanding our team while providing technical oversight, project and program management, and business development expertise. This position focuses on our North American operations, requiring collaboration and integration of global resources to deliver cost-effective and timely services to our clients. You will manage and execute assignments for the design and planning of data centers, leading multi-discipline project teams and ensuring that all aspects of electrical engineering are addressed, from power distribution systems to backup power solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in interpreting client specifications, coordinating with various disciplines, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes. You will also play a key role in developing new client relationships and contract opportunities, contributing to the overall growth and success of Glumac.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute assignments for the design and planning of data centers ranging in size from small to hyperscale.
  • Lead multiple-discipline project teams.
  • Oversee complex electrical building design and ensure compliance with standards and codes.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed design of electrical systems, including load calculations and equipment sizing.
  • Coordinate with internal marketing teams to strategize developing new clients and contract opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain bid documents, respond to RFIs, and manage change orders.
  • Provide QA/QC for design packages to ensure compliance with BOD, standards, codes, and constructability.
  • Assist and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team.
  • Participate in weekly project meetings and communicate project status to stakeholders.
  • Endeavor to achieve client satisfaction through effective business relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university or related field is required.
  • 8-15 years of experience in consulting engineering with an A/E firm.
  • Experience in data center design and ancillary power distribution systems.
  • Proficient in using software such as REVIT, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Experience with SKM, EasyPower ETAP, and Bluebeam.
  • Advanced working knowledge of NEC Codes and Standards, including hazardous areas and California Building Code (CBC).
  • Strong client-facing and relationship management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management experience; PMP certification is a plus.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sectors such as microelectronics, mission-critical, pharma, chemicals, or advanced manufacturing.
  • Construction experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience in maintaining successful client relationships.
