The Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical Data Center Program Lead will play a pivotal role in managing and executing assignments for the design and planning of data centers, ranging from small facilities to hyperscale operations. This position requires a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in designing data centers and ancillary power distribution systems. The successful candidate will lead multi-discipline project teams, oversee complex electrical building designs, and ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with internal marketing teams to develop new client relationships and contract opportunities, as well as managing project deliverables to achieve client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will also support junior personnel and assist in recruiting talent to meet workload demands, ensuring that Glumac continues to lead in sustainable design and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute assignments for the design and planning of data centers ranging in size from small to hyperscale.
  • Lead multiple-discipline project teams.
  • Oversee complex electrical building design and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed design of electrical systems, including load calculations and equipment sizing.
  • Coordinate with internal marketing teams to strategize developing new clients and contract opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain bid documents, respond to RFIs, and manage change orders.
  • Provide QA/QC for design packages to ensure compliance with BOD, standards, codes, and constructability.
  • Assist and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team.
  • Communicate and coordinate project deliverables with other disciplines.
  • Participate in weekly project meetings and communicate project status to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university or related field is required.
  • 8-15 years of experience in consulting engineering with an A/E firm.
  • Experience in data center design is required; experience in microelectronics, mission-critical, pharma, chemicals, or advanced manufacturing is preferred.
  • Proficiency in software such as REVIT, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
  • Experience with SKM, EasyPower ETAP, and Bluebeam.
  • Advanced working knowledge of NEC Codes and Standards, hazardous areas, and California Building Code-CBC.
  • Strong client-facing and client management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management experience; PMP certification is a plus.
  • Construction experience is a plus.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
