About the position

Dewberry is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer or Senior Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer to lead the National Water Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (E&IC) efforts within the Water Market Segment. This role focuses on executing EI&C design work for water and wastewater projects across the nation, ensuring quality and consistency in deliverables while engaging with clients and coordinating workloads among various offices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical power system and instrumentation/control system engineering oversight and design for water/wastewater projects.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent design projects and manage junior engineers to execute projects.
  • Coordinate EI&C workload for water/wastewater projects nationally, collaborating with project managers and design teams.
  • Design low voltage electrical power distribution, motor control, VFDs, lighting systems, and equipment layout.
  • Provide EI&C specifications, drawings, and cost estimates.
  • Review and approve contractor submittals.
  • Coordinate with process engineers to develop Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Execute redline markups from engineers.
  • Size conduit and wire, lay out electrical distribution equipment, and design lighting systems.

Requirements

  • Experience specifying, designing, and implementing electrical power systems and/or process instrumentation and control systems.
  • Strong management experience with proven success in overseeing staff and teams delivering multiple concurrent water/wastewater EI&C designs.
  • Strong client engagement expertise.
  • Experience in water/wastewater (W/WW) projects preferred; industrial, chemical, and mining experience acceptable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with innovative technologies in electrical engineering.
  • Familiarity with national standards for water/wastewater engineering.
