About the position

We are a private consulting firm that specializes in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, commissioning, and technology design services. Our team is composed of passionate professionals who are dedicated to delivering innovative and high-performance engineering solutions. We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team and work on exciting projects across the Houston area. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components, including lighting, power, fire alarm, security, and communication systems, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will prepare and review electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports using AutoCAD, Revit, and other software tools. You will coordinate with other engineers, architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure the quality and timely delivery of projects. Conducting site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance, mentoring, and supervision to junior engineers and designers, manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, and develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components such as lighting, power, fire alarm, security, and communication systems.
  • Preparing and reviewing electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports using AutoCAD, Revit, and other software tools.
  • Coordinating with other engineers, architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure the quality and timely delivery of projects.
  • Conducting site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities as needed.
  • Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and supervision to junior engineers and designers.
  • Managing project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the consulting industry.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering software tools.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IBC, and other applicable codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • A willingness to travel occasionally and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
