About the position

AE Works is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and construction administration of electrical systems for building projects. This role involves direct client interaction, leading project discussions, and collaborating with a multi-discipline team. The position is based in Washington, DC, with occasional travel to project sites and other office locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and construction administration of power, lighting, and telecommunication systems for building projects.
• Guide clients and internal design teams through the planning and design of mechanical systems for both new construction and renovation projects.
• Produce high-quality deliverables for clients at all stages of design.
• Serve as the primary contact with clients and consultants for electrical engineering design on projects.
• Act as the project lead for electrical-focused design projects.
• Mentor and train team members to champion engineering design relevance within the firm.
• Attend interviews for new work opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• PE registration in VA, MD, DC, PA or other reciprocal state.
• 8+ years of related mechanical experience for building projects.
• Demonstrated familiarity with Revit.
• Experience in the design of healthcare, senior care, higher education, commercial, public safety, and/or government projects.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Commitment to being an active participant in the company culture.
• Skilled in using cloud-based and mobile technology for collaboration.
