About the position

The Senior Electrical Aviation Engineer/Project Manager at Jacobs will lead aviation project design and construction teams for airside, landside, and terminal facilities. This role involves managing multiple design and construction aviation projects from proposal development through project close-out, ensuring effective delivery and strong client relations. The position is based in either Pittsburgh or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and supports a hybrid work model to promote work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Aviation project design and construction teams for airside, landside, and terminal facilities.
  • Manage resources, subconsultants, tasks, and work necessary for successful project delivery.
  • Develop strong client relations through daily communication and regular reporting of task and project status.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, agencies, subcontractors, and design teams including FAA and state DOTs.
  • Mentor and supervise less experienced engineers and technical support personnel assigned to projects.
  • Coordinate all design activities and implement client design standards.
  • Develop contract documents including drawings, specifications, reports, cost estimates, and equipment sourcing documents.
  • Resolve complex problems related to design requirements and coordination.
  • Evaluate the progress of designs and proactively implement actions to address project issues and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Review plans, schedules, and prepare or review technical specifications and contract documents.
  • Exercise quality control procedures and report on schedule, cost, budget metrics, and overall design progress.
  • Participate in project pursuits by maintaining client relationships and developing proposals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum of 8 years of electric engineering experience.
  • Previous project/task management experience.
  • Previous experience on aviation-centric projects.
  • Experience working with CAD and CAE tools in the preparation of aviation projects.
  • Experience with the development of reports, plans, and specifications using FAA, UFC, or ICAO criteria.
  • Familiarity with FAA standards, specifications, orders, etc.
  • Airfield construction experience.
