About the position

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team, focusing on electrical design and management in industrial settings. This role involves significant responsibilities including project management, mentoring junior staff, and engaging in business development, all while contributing to environmental solutions. The position allows for remote work and offers opportunities for professional growth and collaboration with national teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a project task manager or lead discipline engineer on projects.
  • Scope and budget projects, identify execution methods, and coordinate staff assignments.
  • Manage and execute electrical designs on time and on budget using company systems.
  • Support business opportunities and assist in sales and marketing efforts.
  • Mentor junior electrical and I&C engineers and designers.
  • Perform contractor construction submittal reviews and general electrical design activities for water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Produce effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums.
  • Collaborate with a national team of technical experts in the Electrical and I&C group.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional registration or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer in water and wastewater industries.
  • Experience with Revit/BIM and AutoCAD P&ID.
  • Power system software design/modelling experience (SKM, ETAP, EasyPower).
  • Experience in industrial power systems design (medium and low voltage systems).
  • Solid knowledge of the National Electrical Code and electrical safety systems (NFPA 70E).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • 15+ years' experience in water and wastewater industries preferred.
  • Experience in Design Build project delivery.
  • Additional industry certifications (PMP, LEED, CESCP).
  • Experience with renewable and alternative energy design (solar, wind, cogeneration).
