About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer - Test Equipment position at Raytheon involves working within a hands-on, multidiscipline engineering team to develop test solutions for various Raytheon products. The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, with responsibilities spanning the entire development lifecycle of test products. The position is based in Tucson, Arizona, and emphasizes collaboration, technical problem-solving, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate Raytheon test products within Test Equipment Engineering in multidiscipline engineering teams.
  • Develop engineering and production test systems, including test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, and circuit design.
  • Contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development, managing technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects.
  • Act independently or as part of a team to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test products.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with electrical engineering design, including troubleshooting, analysis, and testing.
  • Experience with electrical engineering design and analysis tools such as Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, and Creo Schematic.
  • Experience with test equipment including Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Network Analyzers, and Power Meters.
  • Experience using schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master of Science degree in STEM. ABET accreditation is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership in a multidiscipline team environment.
  • Experience performing analog, digital, and/or RF design.
  • Experience designing, testing, and integrating digital, mixed signal, and electrical system interconnects.
  • Experience utilizing integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot software.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage workload to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Proficient technical writing and formal presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead single- or multi-discipline teams of engineers.
  • Project management experience.
  • Bid and proposal experience.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with developing and implementing programming languages.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems.
