About the position

This position is for a Senior Electrical Engineer with at least 5 years of professional experience, working within the Test Equipment Engineering Team Directorate at Raytheon. The role is 100% onsite in Tucson, Arizona, a city known for its friendly atmosphere and beautiful natural surroundings. The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon products. Engineers in this team are involved in all elements of the development lifecycle for test products, utilizing the latest technology and tools to integrate advanced test solutions with state-of-the-art engineering systems. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating Raytheon test products within multidisciplinary engineering teams. This includes developing both engineering and production test systems, creating test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawings, schematics, and conducting circuit design and analysis. The engineer will contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development and will be responsible for managing technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects. The role requires the ability to work both as part of a team and independently to identify and resolve issues related to the development and implementation of test products. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and integrate Raytheon test products within Test Equipment Engineering in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Develop both engineering and production test systems, including test interface adapters and cabling.
  • Create technical drawings, schematics, and conduct circuit design and analysis.
  • Contribute to the completion of all stages of test product development, managing technical, cost, and schedule aspects of assigned projects.
  • Act independently or as part of a team to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of test products.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with electrical engineering design, including troubleshooting, analysis, and testing.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering design and analysis tools such as Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, and Creo Schematic.
  • Experience with commonly used test equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, network analyzers, and power meters.
  • Proficiency in using schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Ability to provide technical leadership in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience performing analog, digital, and/or RF design.
  • Experience designing, testing, and integrating digital, mixed signal, and electrical system interconnects.
  • Familiarity with integrated development environments and debugging tools for software troubleshooting.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage workload to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a team environment with proficient technical writing and formal presentation skills.
  • Project management experience and bid/proposal experience.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and hardware optimization techniques.
  • Experience with developing and implementing programming languages.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of RTX projects, programs, or systems.
