About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the electrical group within a professional engineering firm specializing in industrial design and construction management. This role involves managing electrical staff, ensuring quality control, and overseeing project management while collaborating closely with clients and process engineers. The position requires a strong background in electrical design and construction, particularly in water and wastewater applications, and aims to provide innovative solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage the electrical staff and oversee quality control.
• Lead project management efforts for electrical design and construction.
• Review design and construction documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with the development of process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Implement instrumentation and control systems for projects.
• Design power distribution, motor control, PLC control systems, and control panels.
• Develop schematics and logic for electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with the National Electric Code during design and implementation.
• Utilize AutoCAD for design and documentation purposes.
• Review facility construction documents and shop drawings.
• Conduct facility testing and startup procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years' experience in Industrial Electrical Design, preferably in water and wastewater applications.
• Professional Engineer license in Maryland or ability to obtain one.
• Project management experience in engineering projects.
• Strong quality focus with attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with facility construction and startup processes.
