About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer position at Fibertek involves utilizing electrical engineering expertise to advance lidar, laser, and space exploration technologies. The role focuses on developing laser products within the R&D team, engaging in both short and long-term projects that contribute to aerospace applications. The engineer will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for a variety of engineering tasks, including circuit board development and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and verify electronics for electro-optical systems.
• Manage a range of engineering tasks including circuit board development and firmware development.
• Design and document cable/harness systems.
• Integrate and test board and system-level components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in circuit development and integration.
• Work on multiple concurrent projects, balancing short-term and long-term tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 8+ years of applicable work experience.
• Experience with circuit board design, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in using electrical lab equipment for circuit development and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or PhD.
• Experience with high-reliability military and/or space-flight hardware development.
• Experience with FPGA/CPLD design, simulation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with LIDAR systems.
