The Senior Electrical Engineer position is a critical role within a leading engineering design and consulting firm that specializes in providing innovative solutions for clients facing challenges related to facility and infrastructure. This role is based in Nashville and involves performing a range of duties independently, utilizing standard design engineering techniques for small projects or selected segments of larger projects. The Senior Electrical Engineer will work closely with the project team to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with industry standards. In this position, the Senior Electrical Engineer will take responsible charge of projects within their experience and expertise, acting as the Engineer on Record (EOR) for assigned projects. They will collaborate with other disciplines to determine equipment requirements and provide input for operating procedures and technical information. The role also involves conducting specific engineering studies and design analyses using industry software, attending meetings with clients, owners, or architects as needed, and assisting in developing design approaches and concepts. The Senior Electrical Engineer will evaluate the work of design colleagues, provide feedback and corrections, and conduct site visits during construction to monitor progress and observe installed construction. They will coordinate with local authorities, utilities, and municipalities to ensure compliance with associated construction and government standards. Additionally, the engineer will identify collisions and ensure that design staff address and resolve them, develop overall man-hour budgets, and is responsible for the discipline's man-hour budget. They will also provide input, feedback, and updates on project schedules, review shop drawings and submittals, and assist in preparing and implementing a proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan for projects. Continuous learning and development within the discipline through self-education and training to keep up with industry trends and changes is also expected.
