About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Schneider Electric involves providing engineering design services for assigned projects from inception to commissioning. The role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and effective troubleshooting of designs. The engineer will be responsible for producing documentation, resolving design discrepancies, and maintaining product reputation through adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Produce required documentation for fabrication purposes by researching custom specifications, industry standards, and evaluating manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Resolve differences between design and fabrication requirements by making determinations such as modifying design versus sending parts back to the vendor.
  • Collaborate with Test Technicians to troubleshoot designs and complete projects.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Evaluate assigned projects by designing and conducting research around custom specifications.
  • Release projects to manufacturing by assembling bill of materials, generating electrical schematics, and developing application-specific programs.
  • Maintain drawing and program revisions by issuing Engineering Change Notices.
  • Represent assigned engineering functions during Factory Witness Tests as required.

Requirements

  • 4 year engineering degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
  • Three or more years of professional experience in OEM design activities, meeting schedules and providing technical support.
  • Thorough understanding of the fundamental concepts involved in electrical circuit design, Power Systems, Digital Logic, and basic Protective Relaying applications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Word Processing, and Spreadsheets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ladder Logic GE Proficy Software or Modicon Control Expert Software.
  • File Management Software, Jobscope/JDE, Promis-E Software.
  • Awareness and understanding of applicable codes, including NEC, NFPA110, UL508, UL891, UL1008, and UL1558.
  • PLC or script-based programming knowledge.
