About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer at Dartmouth College plays a crucial role in providing high-quality engineering services for various projects, particularly focusing on the Decarbonization Program aimed at transitioning the campus heating systems to more sustainable solutions. This position involves collaboration with project managers, technical oversight of electrical systems, and ensuring compliance with design and construction guidelines. The engineer will engage in design reviews, field investigations, and the development of energy-efficient systems, contributing to the college's commitment to reducing carbon emissions.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering oversight of consultants for new construction and renovation projects.
• Act as a liaison between Facilities Operations & Maintenance and various departments for engineering support services.
• Perform engineering design and construction administration for small electrical system renovation projects.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of campus design and construction guidelines.
• Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness in all interactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or architectural engineering technology or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical design and drafting, preferably with an MEP consulting firm.
• Registered Professional Electrical Engineer in New Hampshire or ability to obtain registration within one year.
• Familiarity with low voltage electrical design and field experience.
• Experience with energy-efficient lighting and electrical system design.

Nice-to-haves

• High proficiency with AutoCAD and familiarity with 3D drafting software like Revit.
• Knowledge of low-carbon renewable energy systems and smart grid technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.
