About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer position at BAE Systems focuses on developing innovative technologies and equipment to protect warfighters. The role involves working within an Agile engineering team to design, develop, and support complex defense products. The selected candidate will engage in a variety of tasks including translating system requirements into designs, conducting technical evaluations, and creating design documentation. Responsibilities

  • Assist in translating system requirements into compliant complex printed board assembly designs.
  • Conduct technical trade studies and evaluate technology insertion/upgrades.
  • Perform laboratory tests and troubleshooting of hardware modules.
  • Evaluate hardware module performance using simulation tools and prototype hardware in a laboratory environment.
  • Create design documentation and verification test procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with product development and support of electronics equipment.
  • Solid fundamentals of digital/analog/power/mixed signal electronics and interface/communication standards.
  • Understanding of electronics manufacturing and test methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing compact embedded systems for harsh environments.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering design, schematic capture, and analysis tools.
  • Eligible to obtain a DOD Security Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with printed board assembly (PBA, PCB) design using Cadence tools.
  • Familiarity with AS9145 compliant processes.
  • Experience with FPGA designs.
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare systems or high power RF software defined radio (SDR) hardware.
  • Experience with radar systems.
  • Local Power Supply Design knowledge.
  • Knowledge of memory interfaces such as DDR, QSPI.
  • Knowledge of data transfer protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, JESD 204, I2C, JTAG.
  • Control account management experience.
  • Active DOD security clearance.
