About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer at Leidos will play a crucial role in the Integrated Systems Division, focusing on the design, engineering, and oversight of electrical systems for mission-critical facilities. This position requires a proven track record in electrical engineering, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with national electrical codes and managing construction operations related to electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee electrical engineering design of power distribution systems for mission critical facilities.
  • Analyze electrical engineering designs to ensure compliance with national electrical code (NEC).
  • Analyze technical information related to construction projects and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform and analyze site surveys and develop site survey reports.
  • Oversee Electrical Design and System Analysis (EDSA) of low voltage electrical protection schemes.
  • Perform Arc Flash Hazard energy calculations and conduct site assessments.
  • Assist in the design and analysis of electrical facilities and systems using CADD software.
  • Prepare or update site specific engineering plans and drawings.
  • Oversee coordinated reviews of facility designs and project communications with stakeholders.
  • Prepare engineering risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate potential risks.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and 12 or more years of prior relevant experience; or a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must be a Registered Professional Engineer in good standings in the United States.
  • Experience in electrical design and engineering using NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E.
  • Experience using electrical analysis software such as SKM Power Tools.
  • Experience in reviewing and commenting on design work and calculations performed by others.
  • Strong understanding of EHS policies & procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working within Facility Maintenance or similar technical environment.
  • Demonstrated high level of problem solving, decision making and analytical skills.
  • Power Distribution experience.
  • Understanding of Industrial Control Circuits.
