About the position

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Airborne Imaging Systems team, which is dedicated to developing advanced airborne EO/IR systems. This role is pivotal in transforming military capabilities through innovative technology. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to define electrical architectures for airborne systems, build prototypes, and conduct rigorous testing to ensure the systems meet operational requirements. You will be responsible for all electronics aspects of the airborne systems, including sensor electronics and power management, and will work closely with various aircraft platform teams to ensure seamless integration and performance. Your expertise will be crucial in validating models against real-world data and in leading small teams through the design and development phases of projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology that addresses significant security challenges for the U.S. and its allies.

Responsibilities

  • Work with systems engineering teams to define requirements based on physics-based models of sensor & system performance.
  • Be responsible for development of all electronics aspects of airborne EO/IR systems (e.g. sensor electronics, aircraft interfaces, power management, etc.).
  • Provide support and collaborate with multiple aircraft platform teams, both internal and external.
  • Work with the electrical engineering organization to develop new PCB designs.
  • Support system testing at the lab, ground, and flight test levels.
  • Validate models against laboratory and real-world data.
  • Coordinate and communicate with both external & internal stakeholders with varying degrees of technical background.

Requirements

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ability to decompose complex systems into functional parts, with clearly defined interfaces and requirements for each.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting electronics at the component and system levels.
  • Strong laboratory skills (e.g. design of experiments).
  • Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
  • Experience in system development from initial concept through test and delivery to customer.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel to test sites, as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with communication systems (RF or optical comms).
  • Advanced sensing domain experience (e.g., EO/IR, LIDAR).
  • A track record of successfully working on fast-paced, highly technical, interdisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team through design trades while meeting program deadlines.
  • Proficiency in analytical toolchains/languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C++, etc).

  • Family Planning & Parenting Support including fertility, adoption, and gestational carrier coverage.
  • Free mental health resources 24/7 including therapy and life coaching.
  • Professional development stipend available to all employees.
