You have the opportunity to make independent decisions, assist in the development of manufacturing processes and troubleshooting issues to determine root cause and engineering solutions. Leads in efforts to define new components, products or processes. Identifies and solves technical challenges. Designing and executes experiments to test hypotheses related to project outcomes. Apply advanced scientific knowledge to projects; determines priorities for experiments. Participates or leads multi-functional technical teams. Provides technical direction and feedback to others. You will practice and mentor in the use of company concepts, policies, and procedures, familiar with and follows standard practices. Assures experimental quality through sound, independent, experimental design. You will monitor work to ensure quality and continuously promote Quality First Time.

Responsibilities

  • Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of design principles, practices and implementation in complex systems and assignments.
  • Designs new products and participates in design reviews.
  • Develops and tests to assess performance against design specifications and conducts reliability testing.
  • Assists in the development of manufacturing processes and troubleshooting issues to determine root cause and engineering solutions.
  • Leads efforts to define new components, products or processes and identifies technical challenges.
  • Designs and executes experiments to test hypotheses related to project outcomes.
  • Applies advanced scientific knowledge to projects and determines priorities for experiments.
  • Participates or leads multi-functional technical teams and provides technical direction and feedback to others.
  • Practices and mentors in the use of company concepts, policies, and procedures, ensuring adherence to standard practices.
  • Monitors work to ensure quality and promotes Quality First Time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a directly related field and 8 years of related experience; OR a MS degree in a directly related field plus 4 years related experience; OR a PhD degree in a directly related field and 2 years of related experience required.
  • Recent hands-on working experience in electrical analog & digital design/development.
  • Recent hands-on working experience in firmware design/development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Orcad, Mentor Graphics or Altium schematics capture
  • Knowledgeable in using test equipment (Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Current probe, JTAG Emulators for programming CPLD/FPGA, Logic analyzer, Multimeter, etc.)
  • Embedded Controllers and FPGA design and testing
  • Familiarity with 18F Microchip family of parts
  • Programming Languages (VHDL, Python, LabVIEW, Matlab, C, C#, Assembly)
  • Familiarity with ARM-based processors
