About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer at Crusoe Energy is responsible for the design, layout, and integration of electrical systems into custom power and control products for manufacturing. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure the accuracy of project materials and to identify areas for improvement in manufacturing processes, all while supporting the company's mission to utilize stranded energy resources for environmentally responsible computing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for electrical design deliverables on various projects including one-line diagrams, control schematics, and bill of materials.
  • Confirm accuracy of project materials quoted to customers, reviewing vendor bid packages and submittals for technical accuracy.
  • Perform branch circuits and feeder calculations on power distribution equipment, specifying and sizing components.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Production, Procurement, Project Management, and Sales teams on continuous improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, construction, or project environment.
  • Solid knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code).
  • Solid knowledge of the design, building, and maintenance of low voltage (600 volts and below) power distribution systems.
  • Ability to perform load calculations on machine and control panels per NEC and UL 508A.
  • Proficiency in Office-based software systems and computer-aided design (ACADE) for designing and documenting electrical schematics and power distribution systems.
  • Experience with QA/QC, Factory Acceptance Testing, and documentation.
  • Solid knowledge of machine engineering principles and the building of production equipment.
  • Experience with programmable devices including PLCs, motion-control, human-machine interfaces, and instrumentation.
  • Strong skills in developing and maintaining effective work relationships with production personnel and electrical technicians.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret schematics and mechanical diagrams.
  • Ability to inspect the quality of work performed for flaws and mistakes.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner on multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing and documentation.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and instrumentation.
