About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer position at Actalent involves the development and maintenance of designs for high-voltage AC and DC systems, along with the corresponding controller equipment. The role requires the generation of requirement specifications, functional diagrams, system layouts, and control algorithms, as well as the development of software program logic. The engineer will be tasked with improving and optimizing electrical designs for AC systems (480V) and DC systems (1500V), with a strong emphasis on familiarity with power systems, including transformers, inverters, breakers, and cable selection. In addition to design responsibilities, the engineer will maintain design information and drawings within a structured revision control system. They will also support or lead Design Verification Testing efforts for subcomponents or full product systems and assist in certification efforts for products under UL, CE, and other standard organizations. The role includes developing and executing test procedures and protocols for product verification or factory acceptance testing, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating feedback to resolve these issues. The engineer will perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions, conduct Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) related to large DC systems, and support the creation of product and process documentation. Furthermore, the engineer will interface with customers or suppliers as a technical expert, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary specifications and standards.
