The Senior Electrical Engineer at SRP will play a crucial role in providing engineering services that are technically sound, safe, timely, and cost-effective. This position is essential for enabling SRP to achieve its goals in delivering reliable water and energy services to the community. The engineer will be responsible for organizing and producing engineering drawings for the installation and commissioning of both new and existing designs. This includes creating physical layouts such as General Arrangements, Grounding, Conduits, and Control House designs, as well as working with electro-mechanical and microprocessor type protection relay systems in high voltage substations. In this role, the Senior Electrical Engineer will lead and support design teams through various stages of project development, including conceptual, preliminary, and final design phases for station projects that range from 48V DC to 500 kV platforms. The engineer will produce, review, and mentor on physical and electrical designs, which encompass one-line, three-line, schematic, and wiring diagrams specifically for high voltage substation projects. Additionally, the engineer will perform engineering design work and studies, act as the engineering project leader, prepare specifications, evaluate bids, and provide recommendations for management consideration. The position also involves administering and reviewing work performed by consultants and other external parties, preparing and conducting written and oral reports and presentations, and performing field engineering work and analyses. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for managing project budgets and schedules, maintaining occasional contact with customers and outside agencies, and liaising with suppliers of equipment and services. Some travel to supplier facilities, industry functions, and SRP facilities may be required, making effective collaboration with various organizational groups within SRP essential.
