About the position

As an Electrical Engineer at Sense, you will play a crucial role in the design, verification, certification, testing, and support of our innovative products related to utility meters and energy infrastructure. This position is based in our Cambridge office, located in the vibrant Central Square area, and is part of a small, dedicated team focused on creating intelligent home solutions that contribute to energy efficiency and climate change mitigation. Your responsibilities will include designing, simulating, and verifying RF switching and amplification subsystems, which are essential for the functionality of our products. You will provide engineering support throughout the design process, including layout, component selection, and manufacturing. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will coordinate closely with internal firmware teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration and performance of our systems. The work environment is fast-paced and agile, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving. We are looking for a candidate who is not only experienced in electrical engineering but also passionate about the energy sector and committed to making a positive impact on climate change. Your contributions will help us demystify home energy use and empower consumers to take control of their energy consumption, ultimately leading to a cleaner and more resilient energy grid.

Responsibilities

  • Design, simulation, and verification of RF switching and amplification subsystems
  • Provide engineering support for design, layout, component selection, and manufacturing
  • Coordinate and work closely with internal firmware teams and partners
  • Work in a fast-paced, agile, highly iterative development environment

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience as an electrical engineer
  • Great communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn
  • BA/BS or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience with RF design and simulation (2 - 6 GHz), including PCB transformers and antennas
  • Experience with switching power supply, microprocessor, and data acquisition is a plus
