About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer position at a leading consulting engineering firm in Dallas, TX, offers a unique opportunity for a professional to transition into a Team Lead role. This position focuses on overseeing electrical engineering services for various projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments. The role emphasizes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective problem-solving to deliver tailored solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee electrical engineering projects, ensuring safe, cost-effective, and timely completion of residential and commercial projects of varying complexity.
  • Design electrical systems such as distribution, transfer switching, UPS, grounding, lighting, life safety, emergency systems, and fire alarm systems, along with ICAT services (e.g., communication, AV, security systems).
  • Prepare concept designs, load calculations, schematics, and system reports while analyzing customer proposals and specifications to provide cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients throughout the project lifecycle to deliver successful outcomes, manage expectations, and address additional service or fee requirements.
  • Mentor and coach the project team to ensure technical accuracy, assigning duties, and supporting development as needed.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer with registration in 1 or multiple states
  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with some leadership experience
  • Experience managing a team
  • Solid knowledge and application of the electrical requirements per building codes, energy codes, and other related standards
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent client and project management skills
  • Strong Leadership skills, able to delegate and manage staff and teams

Nice-to-haves

  • LEED® Accredited Professional is preferred but not essential
