About the position

Skyline Products is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and support of our innovative products. This position encompasses three primary areas of responsibility. First, the engineer will be tasked with developing AC and DC wiring diagrams for our signs, which will include creating detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) with part numbers. This foundational work is essential for ensuring that our products are built to specification and function reliably in the field. Second, the engineer will collaborate closely with senior engineers to design and layout printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) for various applications, including single board computers, environmental control systems, and LED sign/message control systems. This aspect of the role requires a strong understanding of PCB design principles and the ability to work effectively within a team to bring complex designs to fruition. Lastly, the engineer will be involved in product life cycle management and customer support. This includes redesigning products to incorporate alternative components or replacements for parts that are reaching their end-of-life. The ability to adapt and innovate in response to changing component availability is critical to maintaining the quality and reliability of our products. In addition to these core responsibilities, the role offers exposure to a variety of technical areas, including Altium for PCB layout, real-time embedded system design, and various microcontroller and System on Chip (SoC) architectures. Familiarity with serial communication protocols such as RS232, RS485, Ethernet, SPI, and I2C is also important. The ideal candidate will possess a flexible attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with others, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a focus on quality and detail.
