About the position

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at ALTEN Technology USA, you will lead the design and development of hardware architectures and electrical systems for various engineering projects. This role involves mentoring junior engineers, collaborating with project managers and account managers, and ensuring successful project delivery while managing quality and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of hardware architectures, power budgets, electrical block diagrams, schematics, and PCBs.
  • Mentor junior staff members, developing their technical skills and helping them advance in their careers.
  • Work closely with account managers and project managers to bid and scope projects with customers.
  • Manage portions of the Quality Management System and track time for overhead responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in electrical engineering.
  • Extensive design and layout experience with microcontrollers, processors, and FPGAs in embedded designs.
  • Experience with controlled impedance for high-speed channel design or RF technologies.
  • Knowledge of communications interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and USB.
  • Experience with DC/DC converters and topologies.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC and Signal Integrity analysis.
  • Experience in analog and sensor interface design.
  • Proficient in developing specifications and derived requirements from customer inputs.
  • Extensive experience with test procedures and strategies for customer requirement conformance.
  • Lab troubleshooting and debug experience of PCB assemblies using test equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with component derating, worst case circuit analysis, and reliability analysis.
  • Experience with power integrity and signal integrity analysis.
  • Significant experience with EMC compliance.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and standard requirements such as CE, FCC, UL, and MIL-STDs.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
  • Experience with large project proposals and staffing estimations.
