GPI seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Fairfax, VA office. As a Senior Engineer, you will represent GPI in all interactions with clients and project teams. In this role, you will establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects. You will design building electrical distribution, fire alarm, and security systems, determine schedules and details required for the project, and review them with the project team. Ensuring the flow of information between disciplines is crucial, as is preparing reports and feasibility studies. You will also support the development of electrical standards and prepare cost estimates and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Establish design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects
  • Design building electrical distribution, fire alarm, and security systems
  • Determine schedules and details required for the project and review them with the project team
  • Ensure the flow of information between disciplines
  • Prepare reports and feasibility studies
  • Support developing electrical standards
  • Prepare cost estimates and specifications

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Electrical engineering or similar from an accredited institution
  • 10+ years' experience working in the consulting industry
  • Experience working in the MEP Engineering Industry with 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Hands-on design experience using AutoCAD and REVIT
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
  • Able to climb and leave a ladder to a platform varying from 6' to 20'
  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
