About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer at IPS will leverage their extensive experience and technical expertise to oversee and contribute to various design projects in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and animal health sectors. This hybrid role involves assessing project requirements, managing design processes, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring quality standards are met while maintaining strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire design process or assist as a technical expert on specialized designs.
• Assess project requirements and break them into tasks in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Regularly review project team progress and alert the Project Manager to any changes in scope.
• Research design options and write electrical design scopes of work based on client meetings and preliminary reviews.
• Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyze existing systems.
• Create specialized drawings such as electrical riser diagrams and coordinate with drafters for other sketches.
• Perform estimating, review contractor applications for payments, and manage construction budgets.

Requirements

• 8+ years of previous design experience.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience with engineering design programs and computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
• Experience in designing building electrical systems including service, power distribution, generators, lighting, fire alarm, security, and low voltage systems.
• General knowledge of the principles of electrical systems.

• Experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Nutraceutical, or Life Science industry.
