About the position

CNG Engineering, PLLC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead innovative design projects in a values-driven environment. This role involves overseeing project development from inception to completion, ensuring high standards of quality and alignment with the company's core values. The engineer will be responsible for creating energy-efficient designs, managing a dedicated team, and contributing to the firm's vision of becoming the MEP firm of choice for clients and community.

Responsibilities

  • Assume Engineer of Record role for electrical discipline
  • Provide overall direction for the design team from inception to completion on a project-specific basis
  • Design branch circuit distribution systems for power and lighting in commercial facilities
  • Design overall power distribution system
  • Perform calculations to support system designs
  • Perform CA tasks, review submittals/shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and attend CA meetings
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate field installations and conduct field observations
  • Manage assigned projects, including coordination and direction for the design team from inception to completion
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work while maintaining quality standards
  • Lead design and construction meetings
  • Mentor junior team members and assign duties to design staff
  • Provide periodic objective and comprehensive employee check-ins in support of Annual Performance Reviews
  • Prepare and monitor contracts, fee proposals, and contract negotiations
  • Collaborate with Business Development to build relationships and foster repeat work

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited Institution
  • Current Professional Engineering License
  • A minimum of 5 Years as a Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Ability to Obtain Professional Licensure in the State of Texas
  • 10+ Years Experience of Electrical Design experience, specifically in Municipal/Aviation, Education, Healthcare, and Commercial Office sectors
  • 7+ Years of Hands-on MEP Design Experience
  • 3+ Years of Project Management Experience
  • 3+ Years of Supervisory Experience directly over an MEP Design Team
