We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Building, Energy and Infrastructure (BEI) Group within our Distributed Energy Resources (DER) team. This position is for a technical expert who will support power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems for design projects as part of a multi-discipline project team. The successful candidate will produce electrical design and construction drawings and specifications for institutional, commercial, and industrial facilities. As the lead electrical engineer, you will provide technical and design services, conduct evaluations of electrical equipment and systems, and prepare design computations and assessments. You will be responsible for completing electrical engineering design tasks within budget and on schedule, while also communicating and coordinating with other professionals and clients to ensure efficient project completion. Staying current with local, state, and federal design standards and regulations is essential, as is the opportunity to develop new work and clients related to electrical engineering services. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead electrical engineer for design projects.
  • Produce electrical design and construction drawings and specifications for various facilities.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Prepare design computations and assessments for projects.
  • Complete electrical engineering design tasks within budget and on schedule.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other discipline professionals and clients.
  • Stay current with local, state, and federal design standards and regulations.
  • Develop new work and clients related to electrical engineering services.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
  • GA, PA, or NC PE license or ability to acquire PE quickly through reciprocity.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
  • High technical ability and interest in technology.
  • Strong communication skills and self-starter attitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in electrical power engineering and drawing sets in CAD or Revit.
  • Familiarity with MEP work for buildings and knowledge of NEC, NESC, and IEEE standards.
  • Ability to think creatively and present innovative ideas to the team and clients.
  • Interest in working with financial metrics and data analytics.
