About the position
The Senior Electrical Physical/Wiring Designer will lead project teams in the design, modification, and upgrade of electrical systems for nuclear power plants. This role involves producing detailed electrical wiring and physical drawings, collaborating with multi-disciplined engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with project specifications. The position requires a hybrid work schedule with in-office work three days a week.
Responsibilities
- Design and modify electrical systems for nuclear power plants.
- Produce single-line diagrams, relay and metering diagrams, and AC/DC schematic diagrams.
- Create grounding layouts, conduit routing, and cable schedules.
- Review and incorporate vendor drawings into project designs.
- Assist in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
Requirements
- An Associate's Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with equivalent technical design experience.
- Ten or more years of detailed wiring design experience in power plant electrical systems.
- Experience in developing grounding layouts, underground duct bank drawings, and electrical equipment location drawings.
- Familiarity with digital control systems.
- Extensive experience with Microstation and/or AutoCAD in large facility projects.
- Strong understanding of drafting and design practices.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the nuclear power industry.
- Knowledge of medium-voltage and 480V systems.
- Ability to conceptualize plans and details for wiring termination requirements.
