About the position

As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer at Eurofins Scientific, you will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate the complex landscape of performance testing requirements. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with a technical team to set up, test, and disassemble Equipment Under Test (EUT) that is being evaluated by the ALI and partner testing laboratories. This position requires a hands-on approach, where you will be responsible for executing tests, documenting results, and preparing comprehensive reports. You will apply custom testing solutions that leverage the latest technology to ensure compliance with various standards, including UL 201, CSA C22.2 68, ALCTV:2017, and NFPA 70. In this role, you will interpret standards and apply their requirements to the products under investigation. You will create and implement test procedures, conduct tests in accordance with established standards, and meticulously record results. Ensuring that test equipment is properly calibrated and operates effectively will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will support the sales team by providing quotes and will interface with managers and project coordinators to keep them updated on project progress. The position requires a commitment to maintaining a positive and professional attitude while supporting departmental objectives and company goals. You will be expected to communicate with customers in a professional manner, adhering to customer service standards, and perform all duties in a timely and accurate fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Help clients navigate the performance testing requirements and ensure product compliance with ALI and Safety Standards.
  • Work with a technical team to set up, test, and disassemble Equipment Under Test (EUT).
  • Set up and execute tests, document results, and prepare reports using custom testing solutions.
  • Operate testing equipment, read schematics, troubleshoot, and interact with technical support staff to resolve issues.
  • Interpret standards and apply requirements to products under investigation.
  • Create and implement test procedures and conduct tests in accordance with standards and procedures.
  • Ensure test equipment is calibrated and operates properly.
  • Support the sales team by providing quotes and interfacing with managers and project coordinators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a product certification engineer, with experience in a Mechanical and Electrical testing laboratory environment.
  • Experience with regulatory test requirements and measurements of applicable standards.
  • Willingness to travel 50% - 70% of the time.
