About the position

The Senior Electrical Project Engineer will lead the technical direction and delivery of electrical design and documentation for various sectors including Federal, Healthcare, Local Government, and Manufacturing & Distribution. This role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and business development, requiring a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced concepts to ensure quality assurance and project success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical direction and delivery of electrical design and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Market Sector Leadership to develop business opportunities.
  • Mentor designer-level staff and oversee their responsibilities.
  • Review project goals, objectives, design standards, and procedures with Project Managers and Directors.
  • Apply best practices to set project direction during Schematic Design (SD) and Design Development (DD) phases.
  • Implement risk management practices in project engineering.
  • Contribute to revisions of company design standards and master specifications.
  • Lead a team of specialists, technicians, and engineers to ensure quality assurance, scope, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Participate in pre-design services such as feasibility studies and cost analysis.
  • Prepare studies and reports for electrical systems and document project scope.
  • Execute complex electrical designs and manage conflicting design requirements.
  • Prepare code compliance evaluations and participate in reviews with governing agencies.
  • Oversee the development of design concepts by designers and technicians.
  • Produce construction documents that meet project requirements within budget and schedule.
  • Report design process status and cost analysis to Directors and Project Managers.
  • Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects while ensuring quality management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Registration as an Electrical Engineer.
  • 7+ years of experience in the Electrical Engineering field.
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP and other BIM applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and electrical design software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in designing for Federal, Healthcare, or Industrial markets.
  • Current affiliation with local, state, or national industry organizations.
  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certification.
  • LEED Accredited Professional certification.
