About the position

Stryten Energy is seeking a skilled engineer to lead the technical documentation and design management for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This role involves collaborating with various engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure project success while driving innovation and efficiency in energy storage solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and management of technical documentation for utility scale BESS projects.
• Produce thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and drawings.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, coordinate, and monitor work activities with multi-discipline project team members.
• Ensure design activities comply with applicable codes, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Elaborate Design and Verification Plans and Reports and conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
• Support business planning and development.
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Procure electrical subcomponents such as inverters, EMS, FACP, and cabling.
• Submit design and progress reports for grant projects.
• Collaborate with software, electronics, mechanical, and other engineering teams.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Track issues and drive root cause identification and resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Design and develop IoT solutions across BESS and Lithium Motive applications.
• Support the integration of a new connectivity HW platform for Lithium with existing SW platform.
• Become the hardware connectivity expert for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Cellular devices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering
• 3+ years experience working with battery energy storage and/or battery management systems (BMS)
• 2+ years experience with IoT platforms
• 1+ years Power electronics design experience
• Working knowledge of BESS standards and UL codes is a plus
• Experience with Modbus and SCADA systems
• Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, C#, Python
• Embedded Linux (Yocto) experience is a plus
• Design experience with WiFi, Bluetooth, MQTT.
