About the position

The Senior Electrical Technical Project Manager at Blue Origin will oversee electrical ground systems on the Launch Pad, Transporter Erector, and Mobile Test Stand. This role involves collaboration with design teams and subcontractors to manage construction and operational plans, ensuring safe and repeatable space flight. The position requires a commitment to quality and safety, impacting the future of space exploration.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Electrical Project Manager for electrical ground systems located on the Launch Pad, Transporter Erector, and Mobile Test Stand.
  • Collaborate with internal and external design teams and subcontractors to manage and coordinate construction and operational plans.
  • Coordinate with Architects of Record and Blue engineers for construction execution and design reviews.
  • Manage schedule milestones with the site General Contractor and approve requests for information and submittals.
  • Review cost estimates and change orders, execute procurement processes for unbought scope, and review/disposition non-conformances.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with electrical distribution design, hazard classification, load balancing, single-line diagrams, design documentation, construction drawings, construction bid solicitation, contractor selection, construction management, field superintendent, permitting, QA/QC
  • Experience with commissioning, operating, and maintenance of power systems
  • Ability to design and understand precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and modeling applications
  • Ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) at an intermediate level
  • Candidate must be able to lift/carry up to fifty pounds and physically climb multiple flights of stairs, withstand prolonged standing, and work in adverse weather conditions.

  • Experience working to AFSPCMAN 91-710 range requirements
  • Experience with NFPA 72, NFPA 495, NFPA 497
  • Experience with Launch GSE Operations
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering
