About the position

Eaton's Electrical division is seeking a Senior Electrical Test Engineer to lead and support the test function in Richmond, VA. This role involves developing, executing, and maintaining testing and assembly processes, while also leading projects to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to align resources and achieve plant goals, while also mentoring and coaching team members.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test equipment specifications ensuring compliance with electrical safe work practices, hazard identification/remediation, and OSHA requirements.
  • Align cross-functional resources, schedules, projects, and other programs with facility needs among production, quality, supply chain, maintenance, engineering, and safety.
  • Provide guidelines for designing, selecting, supporting, servicing, and troubleshooting test equipment and electrical systems.
  • Support testing function and associated needs to meet customer expectations and operational performance indicators.
  • Coach, mentor, train, and guide hourly electrical test employees as supervisor of the tester team.
  • Utilize continuous improvement frameworks to create a lean culture and increase operational performance.
  • Assist the quality control team in developing methods and processes for failure analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in electrical or controls engineering, design, troubleshooting, and/or testing.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 4+ years' experience in electrical or controls engineering, design, troubleshooting, and/or testing.
  • Experience in electrical testing procedures and protocols.
  • Experience with lock out/tag out (LOTO) with a focus on electrical.
  • Experience supporting engineer to order (ETO) manufacturing.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certified.
