About the position

The Senior Embedded Software Developer at METECS will be responsible for developing, integrating, and testing flight software for NASA's Johnson Space Center. This role involves working on human-rated software for the Orion and Gateway vehicle products, as well as custom software for commercial satellites and space vehicles. The position requires collaboration within a small agile team to deliver high-fidelity simulation and software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate flight software for NASA's Johnson Space Center.
• Test and validate software applications in a command-line Linux environment.
• Collaborate with a team of software engineers in an agile environment.
• Work on ITAR or export-controlled products as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency in developing software applications in C and Python.
• Experience in a command-line Linux environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in an agile small-team environment.
• Eligibility to work on ITAR or export-controlled products.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Engineering.
• Experience with flight software development.
• Familiarity with the cFS (core Flight System) framework.
• Leadership experience in agile teams based on experience level.
• Experience with command-line Git, continuous integration, devops, and unit testing.
• Experience in debugging and troubleshooting embedded software.
• Knowledge of configuring IP networking.
