About the position

The Senior Embedded Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in multi-disciplinary research projects focused on ground combat vehicles. This position requires expertise in embedded systems development, computer vision, machine learning, and autonomous navigation to support the development and testing of optionally manned systems for the Department of Defense (DoD) Science and Technology (S&T) communities.

Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering skills in multi-disciplinary research projects for ground combat vehicles.
  • Develop and integrate embedded systems, computer vision, machine learning, and autonomous navigation technologies.
  • Support optionally manned systems development and testing for DoD S&T communities.
  • Maintain direct customer contact and manage relationships effectively.
  • Lead programs or sub-projects, interacting with clients to decompose complex platform requirements into structured engineering components.
  • Develop vehicle system/subsystem architectures using various engineering processes and methodologies.

Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in a related engineering or science discipline
  • Extensive experience in developing and integrating embedded systems
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience
  • Proficiency with SysML, DoDAF, and UPDM
  • Demonstrated experience with military electronics systems, including subsystem and system-level testing and integration
  • Proven leadership experience in large projects or efforts
  • Knowledge of Deterministic and Non-Deterministic Data Bus Architectures, such as CAN Bus and Ethernet
  • Ability to perform functional decomposition and capability development to develop new architectures
  • Experience in integrating and developing data networks across multiple layers of information security (Classified/Unclassified)
  • Ability to develop and execute system-level project plans
  • Proficiency with requirements management tools like IBM Rational Doors
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in process development and improvement management (CMMI)
  • Knowledge of legacy military hardware and software systems
  • Familiarity with Time Sensitive Network (TSN)
