About the position
The position involves designing, developing, and testing processes for electrical products in high reliability applications within Motorola's Access Control Division. The role requires strong analytical and software skills, with a focus on building and innovating smart office technology. The candidate will work collaboratively with various teams to enhance product development and ensure effective communication and documentation throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Design, define, and develop fabrication/assembly/integration/test processes for electrical products used in high reliability applications.
- Design test equipment and test setups that are flexible and evolve with the scope of the project.
- Own hardware automation and testing tools, including production line test harnesses and product reliability test systems.
- Design assembly and fabrication tooling, managing these from concept through implementation.
- Develop work instructions and documentation for build and test processes.
- Communicate effectively with manufacturing, R&D, and testing teams.
- Translate customer issues into testing activities and improved design requirements.
- Proficiently use CAD modeling software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, OnShape).
- Create and manage the firmware and hardware development pipeline.
- Work with OTA based products in high reliability applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Science).
- 5+ years of experience working in a hardware product-based sector.
- Experience working in C and Python programming languages.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely.
