About the position

The Senior Engineer, Artificial Intelligence / Microscopy Computer Vision at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is responsible for developing and implementing advanced AI and computer vision solutions to tackle significant scientific challenges in biomedical imaging. This role involves optimizing models for extracting insights from complex biomedical data, contributing to drug discovery, and ensuring scalable deployment of technologies across various imaging modalities. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and effective communication of technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement AI and computer vision solutions for biomedical imaging challenges.
  • Develop and optimize models to extract insights from biomedical image and video data.
  • Contribute to scalable core technologies for deploying computer vision solutions across imaging modalities.
  • Create research and product roadmaps for computer vision applications in drug discovery.
  • Deploy models using containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Utilize high-performance computing resources for managing large-scale datasets.
  • Communicate complex technical methods and results to diverse audiences.
  • Lead collaborations and engage with stakeholders to identify AI solution opportunities.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline or a Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in computer vision research and AI methods development.
  • Experience with biomedical imaging data such as pathology and radiology.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, C++, or Java.
  • Experience with AI frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV.
  • Extensive experience with computer vision techniques including object detection and image segmentation.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and data handling for large-scale image datasets.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with multi-GPU workloads for training and inference.
  • Familiarity with drug discovery and clinical development processes.
  • Experience with disease biology in areas such as cancer or immunology.
